Why 10 minutes daily beats a weekend crash course

Languages are learned through repetition — not through marathon sessions. DailyEnglish spreads your learning into small, daily portions you can listen to on the bus, while doing dishes or jogging. That is how a real learning habit takes hold.

Personalised to your level

Four difficulty levels — Starter (A2), Middle (B1), Upper (B2), Advanced (C1). You pick your level during onboarding, can change it anytime, and the AI generates fresh daily episodes whose vocabulary and sentence length match exactly where you are.

Topics you care about

Choose from six topic worlds: Tech, Business, Travel, Culture, Science and Psychology. We round-robin through your selection — Day 1 Travel, Day 2 Science, Day 3 Culture. No repetitions in the last 30 days.

German support for beginners

At Starter level (A2) a German voice translates the toughest passages right inside the podcast. So you never get stuck, even if you don't know every word yet. From B1 onwards everything runs in English — by then you are ready.

Vocab flashcards with spaced repetition

Every difficult word from an episode automatically lands in your personal flashcard deck. With the 3-step rating system (Again · Okay · Got it) you review words exactly when you would otherwise forget them — scientifically proven spaced repetition.

How DailyEnglish works — your daily English workout in 4 steps

1. Pick level + topics

During onboarding you pick your language level (A2 – C1) and at least one favourite topic from six options. You can adjust the selection anytime in settings.

2. Listen to your daily episode

Every morning at 6 AM a fresh 10-minute episode is ready for you. In the player you can tap vocab, show German translations of every line, control speed and jump straight to individual words.

3. Review your vocab

After listening, all new words appear as flashcards. A short card session in the evening is enough — that is how the learning truly sticks.

4. Build a streak, stay consistent

Every day you finish an episode counts toward your learning streak. Want more? With "Next episode" you instantly get a second one — bonus episodes don't count toward the streak.

Four language levels — adapted to where you stand

A2

Starter (A2)

Top 1000 English words, short sentences (max 12 words), 60% English / 40% German. Ideal for beginners and anyone who had English briefly in school and wants to refresh.

B1

Middle (B1)

Top 2500 words, medium sentence length (max 18 words), 90% English. For solid basics — you understand everyday conversations and can hold one yourself.

B2

Upper (B2)

Top 5000 words, longer sentences (max 25 words), 100% English. For advanced learners — you work with more complex texts and discussions.

C1

Advanced (C1)

Top 10000 words, free sentence structure, 100% English — idioms and cultural references welcome. For anyone who uses English professionally or wants to reach native level.

Learn English with podcasts — why daily mini episodes work

People who want to learn English rarely fail because of motivation — they fail because of structure. Vocabulary apps leave you alone with endless cards. Language schools cost a lot and happen when you are tired. YouTube videos are entertaining but rarely matched to your level. DailyEnglish solves the structure problem by making language learning as functional as a daily news app: a short fresh episode waits for you every morning, ready for the bus, the gym or the kitchen. Ten minutes is enough — and over 30 days that adds up to real listening comprehension, a growing vocabulary and the feeling that English is part of your everyday life.

The science: spaced repetition + daily reps

Research on language acquisition is unambiguous: short daily reps beat long weekend study sessions. The reason is the forgetting curve described by psychologist Hermann Ebbinghaus back in 1885. Reviewing a word at the right moment — just before you would forget it — anchors it in long-term memory permanently. That is exactly what DailyEnglish's flashcard system does: with the 3-step rating ("Again", "Okay", "Got it") the app automatically computes when each card is due next. So you learn efficiently — no card too early, none too late.

Listening comprehension instead of translating — how the AI keeps the level

A common mistake when learning English is translating every line into your own language internally. Real listening comprehension means thinking directly in the foreign language. DailyEnglish supports that by having the AI choose vocabulary and sentence structure appropriate to each level: A2 uses only the most common 1000 words, C1 welcomes idioms and cultural references. You understand enough from the start not to be overwhelmed — and stretch yourself toward the next level at the same time. The optional German support at A2 is help, not a crutch: it explains tough passages without translating every word for you.

DailyEnglish is part of LearnCastAI — the platform that turns learning content into audio and complements it with AI quizzes, flashcards and tutors. You don't need an extra app, a subscription, an expensive language trip: open the page, pick your level, listen to your first episode. You're ready in two minutes. And in thirty days you will notice the difference.

The moment you open an episode, all difficult words are added to your deck automatically — no manual save needed. In the flashcard session you rate each card with "Again" (immediately due again), "Okay" (in 1 day) or "Got it" (interval doubles, max 30 days). That is automatic spaced repetition.
