Script not visible at first glance

The script section is collapsed by default. Users who only see the player often miss the "Script" button that expands the text view.

Scroll down on the podcast detail page — the "Script" button sits below the player. Click it to reveal the full text.

Script completely missing

If the script section doesn't appear at all, the podcast is likely still generating — or, for very old podcasts, the script may not have been persisted.

Check the podcast status. If it shows "Ready" and nothing appears, a support ticket is the fastest way forward.

How do I save the text as a file?

There is currently no native TXT export button on the script page. This is intentional — most users paste the script straight into Word, Notion or Google Docs.

Select all text with Ctrl+A (Mac: Cmd+A), copy with Ctrl+C (Mac: Cmd+C), and paste into your favorite editor.

How to get the script out of your podcast into any notes, document or subtitle tool.

Open the podcast detail page

If the podcast is still generating, wait until the status switches to "Ready" — only then is the script available.

Tip: You can also reach the detail view via direct link if you saved the URL.

Expand the "Script" section

Below the player you'll see a button labeled "Script" with an arrow icon. Click it — the full text expands.

The section contains the complete transcript, formatted with paragraphs. For dialog podcasts, speakers are labeled as "Speaker A" / "Speaker B".

Note: Expanding works the same on mobile — just tap the "Script" button.

Select and copy the text

Click once inside the script area. Select all text with Ctrl+A (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+A (Mac) and copy with Ctrl+C / Cmd+C.

Switch to Word, Notion, Google Docs, your email client or a subtitle editor and paste with Ctrl+V / Cmd+V.

Tip: For very long podcasts, copying paragraph by paragraph is sometimes easier — especially if the browser scrolls while selecting.

Use Ctrl+F in your browser to find individual terms in the script. Much faster than scrubbing through an audio file.

Multilingual scripts

When you generate podcasts in different languages, the script comes in that language too — perfect for language teaching and ESL learners.

Frequently asked questions about podcast transcripts

We deliberately skipped a dedicated export button because 99% of users paste the script straight into Word, Notion or Google Docs — and copy-paste is faster than an additional download with a format change. If this changes, we'll build an export — feel free to write to support.

Yes. When you generate a podcast, the AI writes the script and turns it into audio at the same time. The script is the original text the audio is built from — not a post-hoc transcription.

Editing directly in the script viewer is currently not supported. If you want to change the script and re-voice it, create a new podcast or use the "Edit Podcast" function from the dashboard.

A 10-minute podcast contains roughly 1500–1800 words. A 30-minute podcast is around 4500–5000 words — about one Word page per 1.5 audio minutes.

Yes, though slightly fiddly — long-press a letter, drag the selection handles, then "Copy". For longer scripts the desktop browser is more comfortable.

Yes, the text is the foundation. For time-synced subtitles you still need a separate tool (e.g. Subtitle Edit, Aegisub or an AI tool) to generate the timing information.

Yes. Script and audio file are both tied to the podcast — as soon as you remove the podcast from your dashboard, the script and MP3 are no longer available.

In all languages LearnCastAI supports for audio generation — currently including German, English, Spanish and French, among others. The script always appears in the language you created the podcast in.
